How Lovable charges
You pay each month for a pot of credits. Every message to Lovable spends some, and bigger requests spend more.1
The unit
A credit is Lovable's single meter: building, chatting, hosting your app and its AI features all come out of one balance.1 On Pro, one credit is worth $0.25.1 On Business it is worth $0.50, and buys the same work.1
Plan mode charges per message. Build mode charges for the work done, so a small edit costs less than a new page.1
| What you ask for | Credits | How sure |
|---|---|---|
| Small edit“Make the button gray” | 0.51 | Low · 1 vendor example |
| Change or remove a component“Remove the footer” | 0.91 | Low · 1 vendor example |
| Add a feature“Add authentication” | 1.2–5.01 5 | Low · 2 reports |
| Build a page from scratch“Build a landing page with images” | 1.7–2.06 1 4 | Medium · 3 reports |
| Plan mode message“Plan how to add Stripe payments” | 11 | Fixed price |
| Bug-fix attempt“Fix the error on the checkout page” | 1.5–30.07 5 | Low · 2 reports |
Vendor examples are single prompts Lovable chose to publish. Your own prompts can cost more or less.
What whole projects cost
From people who built one and said what it used, plus a few published estimates. Few reports means a wide or thin range.
| Project | Credits | How sure |
|---|---|---|
| Landing pageOne to a few pages, a few sections, some images, maybe a contact form. | 2.5–18.06 | Low · 3 reports |
| PrototypeScreens to show an idea to someone. Little or no real data. | 1.88 | Low · 1 report |
| Internal toolLogin, a database, tables and forms for a team. | 20–356 | Low · 1 report |
| SaaS MVPSign-up, a database, payments and several user flows. | 15–259 | Low · 1 report |
Plans, in real work
Each card turns a plan's monthly credits into work, using the costs above. Ranges, not promises.
Which plan do I need?
Not yet. The questionnaire opens once a job has at least 3 reports from at least 2 kinds of source. So far: landing page (3 reports, 1 kind of source); prototype (1 report, 1 kind of source); internal tool (1 report, 1 kind of source); SaaS MVP (1 report, 1 kind of source). Add yours.
What expires, and when
- Daily build credits arrive at 00:00 UTC and expire at the end of that day.1
- Monthly plan credits arrive on the same date each month that your subscription started.1
- On monthly billing, each month's credits expire 2 months after they arrive, so unused credits roll over once.1
- On annual billing, credits still arrive monthly but all stay valid until 1 month after your year ends.2
- Top-up credits last 12 months from when you buy them.3
- Free grants are spent first. After that, Lovable spends whichever credits expire soonest.1
- Per-member credit limits reset on the 1st of the calendar month at 00:00 UTC, not on your billing date.1
Gotchas
- On Free, the 5 daily credits stop once 30 have been granted in a calendar month, which is the first 6 days. After that you get none until next month.1
- Daily credits don't carry over. Any you don't spend that day are gone.2
- Running out doesn't just stop building. AI features in your live app stop and apps on Lovable's built-in backend pause.1
- One Build mode message can keep working and spending for a long time. It only pauses to check with you every 20 credits by default, and that is a prompt, not a cap.1
- Messages run with /goal cost noticeably more for the same work.1
- Stopping a message doesn't refund it. You pay for the work done up to that point.1
- Business credits cost twice as much as Pro credits and don't buy more work.1
- Pro top-ups cost $15 for 50 credits, or $0.30 each, which is more per credit than your plan's own credits.3
- If you cancel, unused paid credits are frozen. They only come back if you resubscribe before they expire.4
What the pricing page doesn’t tell you
- You can't see what a Build mode message will cost before you send it. The cost appears afterwards, in the message's menu.1
- Nothing says what a whole project costs. Lovable only gives single-message examples and calls them illustrative.1
- Lovable's own example prices don't agree. The docs say a landing page with images costs 2.00 credits.1 The pricing page says 1.70.4
- Chat pricing was described as a temporary offer running through October 31, 2026. The docs don't say what replaced it.1
- A chat message costs "typically a fraction of a credit". No exact figure is given.1 Paid plans get a "larger" daily chat allowance than Free, but how large isn't stated.1
- The pricing page says some regional plans cap daily credits at 30 a month, without naming the regions.4 The docs say Pro and Business have no cap at all.2
- There's no credit figure for hosting once a busy app outgrows the free monthly Cloud grant.4
- Plan mode costs 1 credit a message, plus any research Lovable decides to run. How much that research usually adds isn't stated.1
What did it actually cost you?
Estimates here come from people’s real usage. Add yours and it goes into review. It is only published if the number checks out.
